"How Should I Film Deer?" is an essayistic film composed as an open letter to my friend Forough Jalilian in Tehran. Rooted in a personal and diaristic approach to filmmaking, the work reflects on the process of making a personal film and documents fragments of everyday life from a first-person perspective.
Filmed over a period of time without a rigid narrative or structure, the work embraces moments that might otherwise remain unseen.
The film is part of a broader practice rooted in essayistic cinema, where the creative use of the personal becomes central to form and meaning. It reflects my interest in using film not only as a medium for storytelling but also as a space for reflection, correspondence, and poetic inquiry.
