Notes on Encountering (2024)

This film delves into the exploration of home movies and personal archival material through the lens of non-narrative storytelling. Spanning from September 2022 to December 2023, the film captures the continuous movement in and out of the first house where I had a contract. As a non- European expatriate, I navigate the experience of diaspora and undergoes life-altering social shifts within Iran, all viewed from my current vantage point inside of Europe. Themes of home, belonging and unemployment are interwoven with the complexities of bureaucratic processes, which dictate the permission to reside, work and travel in and out of the country.
