"We hope you enjoyed the show."
November 2025- Ongoing (under ADMA program supervision)
The following is a work in progress and serves as the starting point of this artistic research.
I created a collage from two categories of material: 1) screenshots and texts from the documentary Chronicle of the Victory (Iran–Iraq War), and 2) screenshots I collected during the Iran-"Israel" (June 2025). No found material is used.
I chose to begin with the notion of war — how I have experienced it and how it has been narrated. The Iran–Iraq war and the recent one are the only wars the Islamic Republic has experienced within its own territory. I selected Chronicle of the Victory because it is an early example of collecting first-hand material from the front line, while reflecting on how soldiers think, live, and spend time before and after operations. The documentary also includes sequences filmed in Tehran and other cities affected by the war from a distance — a detailed and subjective perspective aligned with the dominant governmental narrative and the positioning of pro-regime citizens. For me, it was one of my first encounters with a war that happened before I was born but was repeatedly broadcast on national television.
